 Marcus Pollock- Board President

Marcus has been involved with community development for much of his professional life.   As Chief Operating Officer for the Mayor's Office of Employment Development, he led the development of PrisonLinks, a workforce development initiative focused on ex-offenders.  Later, he became the Executive Director of the Advisory Council on Offender Employment Coordination, a State agency dedicated to reducing the institutional and personal barriers to employment for ex-offenders where he led the development of the YESNetwork, a mentoring program for ex-offender focused on career development.  His current work is building business and workforce development opportunities for ex-offenders through Jackleggs a construction company revitalizing Baltimore neighborhoods as well as an employee for the Federal Government. Creative, results oriented professional with 30+ years of demonstrated achievement in policy analysis, organization development, program and performance evaluation, and information systems development in the fields of community/economic and workforce development and disaster preparedness.   Marcus is a founding board member.

  Rev.Sonia L. King- Board Vice President

 

 Rev. King  received a Bachelor of Science degree from Lincoln University (PA) in Therapeutic Recreation and a Master of Arts degree from George Washington University in Education and Human Development. She worked as a certified therapeutic recreation specialist for the State of Maryland for sixteen years prior to leaving to complete seminary.

Rev. King is an ordained Elder in the UMC. In May 2004, Rev. King completed a Master of Divinity degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C.  Currently she is the proud pastor of Asbury UMC in Jessup, MD, where she has served since 2005. Prior to this she served as lay leader and minister of visitation at New Beginnings UMC in Severn, under the anointed leadership of Rev. Dr. Cynthia B. Belt.

Rev. King is a certified instructor for the American Red Cross, teaching Starter Facts, Basic and African American HIV/AIDS courses. She has also worked as a HIV/AIDS prevention counselor for the State of Maryland, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.  Rev. King also completed a cross-cultural immersion studying “How the Island of Bermuda cares for their HIV/AIDS population.” In 2005 she was selected to be one of the team of sixteen pastors that traveled to Zimbabwe to teach the “Pastor’s School” at Africa University last June.

More importantly than these accomplishments, Rev. King is a child of God who loves ministering to God’s people, especially those that are considered the least, the last and the lost.

She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc.; Delta Zeta Zeta Chapter of Prince George’s County and enjoys participating in sorority activities when not ministering. She also enjoys fishing, swimming, and traveling.

 

  Jacqueline Anderson

 

Jacqueline Anderson a native of Baltimore Maryland, is a graduate of Coppin State University where she received her Bachelors Degree in Management Science. Her passion(s) are marketing, resource development, and assisting people in developing their God given talents and achieving their goals. In addition, Jacqueline enjoys motivational speaking in areas such as prison ministry and community outreach. 
 Jacqueline Anderson is a member of Sacred Zion where she serves  as the Head & Liaison for Sacred Zion Prison Ministry since 2005
